YouTuber Abel Mutua has asked fans to help him and his family give his late brother a proper send-off, as he provided a till number.

Earlier, when Mutua broke the news on his social media pages, he shared an image of a police van and penned a moving message.

"In this truck lies the lifeless body of a once vibrant young man whose life has been tragically cut short at the tender age of 23," said Mutua

"Rest in peace my brother; we tried our best, but I guess our best wasn’t good enough. Round two brathe," he added.

How did Abel Mutua's brother die?

The content creator stirred mixed reactions when he asked his fans to support his family financially to aid in his brother's funeral.

He wrote:

"Till we meet again little bro. Can’t believe all that football talent will never be appreciated."

Some netizens took to the X app to criticise the act, with some noting that if Raphael did not have a huge hospital bill, the celebrity should not be asking his fans for a fundraiser.

Others noted that they would stand by Mutua and his family as they loved him.

Amidst the controversy surrounding Raphael's death, the father of one promised to tell his brother's story after the funeral.

He wrote:

"Thank you so much Wakurugenzi for the love that you’re sending our way. A good number of you know the truth and you have stood with us since my brother became ill. I’ll tell Rapho’s story because I know it’ll save someone and his death won’t be in vain. See you after the burial."
