Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has expressed his decision to forgo the new celebrations and instead contemplate the suffering of both Palestinians and Israelis caused by the ongoing Hamas wars.
On his X account, Ahmednasir stated that he would rather share in the grief of innocent families than be merry.
"I'm not having New Year celebrations. How? Over 10,000 innocent Palestinian kids were killed by Israeli Defence Forces, and 150 innocent Israelis are being held hostages in dark, dingy tunnels by Hamas in Gaza tonight.

I'm with the families of these dialectically opposed groups that are tonight grieving the consequences of the Gaza war. You go, have a beer, and party!" he stated.
The self-declared general baked two organic cakes to symbolise the undying spirit of struggle, hope, and liberation for the Palestinians and Kenyans going through pain and hardships brought about by the Hamas-Israeli wars and the 60 years of anti-African neocolonialism policies, respectively.
"I wish the Palestinians, Sudanese, Congolese, Julian Assange, and everyone else enduring pain and suffering inflicted by America, Israeli, and European barbarism freedom and self-determination! I wish Kenyans, in particular, and Africans, in general, going through hardships brought about by 60 years of anti-African neocolonial policies and agendas, more energy, focus, and determination towards total liberation!" he said.
Miguna further stated:
"The two organic cakes are from my oven and are used here as symbols of the undying spirit of struggle, hope, and liberation."
The ongoing Gaza war is one of the major events that interrupted most development agendas and global peace in 2023.
The war began on October 7, 2023, on the 50th anniversary of Yom Kippur, when Hamas executed one of the deadliest attacks on Israel, killing more than 1200 people.
Israel responded with a full-scale attack on Gaza, resulting in over 20,000 casualties and a continued hostage situation for hundreds of victims.
