Kericho governor Eric Mutai has hosted Amos Rono, the groom, whose wedding was halted at the last minute under inexplicable circumstances.
On Wednesday, December 13, Amos honoured the invitation by the governor for a man-to-man talk at the governor's office.
While sharing the details of the meeting, the governor said he encouraged Amos with a Bible verse that says God is always close to those with broken hearts.

Without mentioning finer details, the governor disclosed that he extended some form of support to the groom.
"Following the unexpected turn of events for Amos ahead of his big day, I extended an invite to the gentleman for a man-to-man talk. Amos honoured the invite this morning and paid me a courtesy call at the county offices.
Besides the support that I extended to my brother, I left him with the word of God in Psalms 34: 18 which reads :“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Governor Mutai said.
As reported earlier, Amos was set to walk down the aisle with Nelly Chepkoech, but their wedding was cancelled a few hours before the big day.
Speaking to the media a few days ago, Amos claimed Nelly told him and the reverend who was to officiate their wedding that she had someone else, leaving him heartbroken.
The heartbroken man narrated his side of the story, detailing what transpired a few hours before their wedding.
"There were some issues that arose. Nelly said we should give her time; she wasn't ready to take on the responsibilities of being a wife. When we started dating, I loved her so much that I brought her to our home, and we built a life together. We shared the little things I had. We were doing well, and there was nothing she was complaining about)," he said.
