Amidst the festive fervour of Christmas preparations, gospel sensation Daddy Owen's rural home in Kakamega witnessed a heartwarming event that has sent ripples through the rumour mill.
Charlene Chelagat Ruto, the daughter of President William Ruto, visited Owen's family for what sources suggested was an "introduction ceremony" on Friday, December 23.
According to a report by Nairobi News, the meeting was not just a casual encounter; it included a grand ceremony in Eshifiru village within Kakamega County.

Exclusive photos obtained by Nairobi News substantiated the prearranged nature of the event.
Charlene, accompanied by a substantial security contingent, was seen enjoying the occasion, dancing to Luhya songs in a vibrant red dress.
Owen, the award-winning gospel star, was present in a brown and black designer shirt, donning a black hat.
Despite the relatively low-key affair attended mostly by Owen's family, a few select celebrities graced the ceremony, including Owen's siblings and Charlene's close friends.
The event featured Isikuti dancers and a wide array of traditional and customary foods, from chicken and fish to an assortment of beverages.
The ambience was described as joyous and filled with warmth.
Sources reveal that Charlene and Owen's mother, Margaret Mwatia, exchanged gifts, echoing a daughter's visit to her mother.
"Charlene Ruto, in the spirit of the occasion, brought thoughtful presents and received a warm Luhya land welcome," Nairobi News quoted a source.
"And the mother reciprocated with gifts, including macadamia nuts, simsim, and other thoughtful items," the source added.
During the ceremony, Owen tied a leso around Charlene's waist, captivating the villagers with the heartfelt exchange.
The atmosphere was one of awe, happiness, and entertainment.
The sparks of dating rumours ignited in November when Owen shared photos of himself playing basketball with Charlene.
Netizens speculated about the nature of their connection, prompting Owen to address the rumours in an interview with Milele FM.
He dismissed the rumours, emphasising that his relationship with Charlene was purely professional.
"Apart from being friends, we have many projects we're working on together," he explained.
"It's not necessary that every time you see me with someone, they have to be more than a friend," Owen added.
Previously, the Gospel singer's rumoured sweetheart, Eve Maina vehemently denied being in a relationship with the musician.
The beautiful Eve categorically stated she has clarified her relationship, insisting she was not dating Daddy Owen.
Maina was responding to a Twitter user who questioned the level of her relationship with the singer.
She responded to a query and wrote:
"No, we are not dating. I have clarified this like a million times."
