Kipchoge's outstanding records

In October 2019, Guinness World Records paid tribute to Kenya's long-distance runner for covering 42 km in 1:59:40.

Eliud broke the world record at the INEOS 1:59 challenge at Pratar Park in Vienna, Austria.

"Eliud Kipchoge has made history by becoming the first person to run a marathon distance in under two hours. The 34-year-old Kenyan long-distance runner completed 26.2 miles in 1 hour 59 minutes 40 seconds at the INEOS 1:59 Challenge in Vienna, Austria," it said on its official website.

Kipchoge has also won the Berlin Marathon five consecutive times. The world's record holder expressed joy in a social media post that the marathon was a dream come true.

In the latest record in 2023, he emerged as the winner at the event held in Germany after completing the race in 2:02:42.

"To be the first to win the Berlin Marathon five times is something that I could only dream of when I started my career. We have so much history together that I cannot put into words the feeling I get when running these streets. Thank you to all the fans out on the course today. I heard all of your cheers. You motivate me to keep pushing. Berlin, my special place," he wrote.
