Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja recently visited the Gikomba market, the biggest open-air market in the country, to survey the area and determine any improvements that should be made.
The governor, who had earlier wowed Kenyans on Jamhuri Day after showing up to the celebrations in a vintage car, interacted with traders at the market.
In a series of videos shared on his social media, he was seen walking around the market and discussing any infrastructural improvements that should be made with the traders.
The traders brought their wares to him in hopes that he would patronise them.

One such trader handed him a sweater and could not believe it when he paid KSh 2,000.
He looked at the cardigan, approved of it and then paid the woman much to her joy.
The beige cardigan in question, being second-hand, would probably go for KSh 500 on the higher side on a typical day.
Sakaja's trip to Gikomba received several comments from netizens.

Elsewhere, a mzungu man, Rory Gallagher, decried the mitumba business in Kenya.
Speaking the mind of an average American who donated their clothes, Rory said the idea was for them to get to poor kids in Africa, but they are shipped and sold as second-hand clothes instead.
In a video, Rory said they often don't get to the children they were intended for.
He visited Gikomba, where the clothes, popularly known as mitumba, were sold and identified some Canadian and US clothing items.
