However, as they were cutting down the tree, it unexpectedly fell on Swadi, killing him on the spot.

Moses disclosed that he had hoped his brother would help during his son's burial, but things had taken an unexpected turn.

"I came and found a tree had fallen on him; I was very surprised. I cried because I am in mourning, and my sibling, I was thinking we would support each other in this mourning, and then he dies," he said.

Mary Mudambi, mother of Edwin, said they rushed him to the nearest health facility, hoping to save his life, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

What is the Kakamega family's plea to gov't

David's daughter, Gayle Swadi, has appealed to the government to come to their rescue during this trying time, adding that two burials would strain them.

Gayle disclosed that financially, they were drained, fearing her mother would die due to the depressing situation.

"We request the government to help us; we have two funeral ceremonies at home. We don't have money, and there is no way we can help ourselves, for sure. We have a child who is supposed to join Form One; our mother is so stressed she might die. I just ask for your help," she said.
