Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has criticised former Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa for refusing to sign the report with recommendations from the bipartisan talks team.

The former vice president said he was yet to understand why Eugene refused to sign the report, even though Azimio had stated that they were not in agreement with the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

"Eugene Wamalwa surprised me a lot. We were all in the talks and agreed. So I think Eugene had his reasons. He will still explain to me because I did not understand them," Kalonzo said.

According to the Wiper leader, the Azimio team had agreed to oppose some issues but not the report in its entirety.

Why Eugene Wamalwa never signed the report

As reported earlier, Wamalwa, who was part of the team, dismissed the National Dialogue Committee's (NADCO) report, saying it did not do justice to the issue of the high cost of living.

The former Defence CS, who was a member of the committee, vowed not to append his signature to the report nor accept any sitting allowance.

"I informed Kenyans at Tingolo Catholic Church that I didn’t and will not append my signature to the NADCO report and have not and will not accept any sitting allowance for the same because I believe we did not do justice to the single most important issue to Kenyans, i.e., the cost of living," Wamalwa said.
