Kericho - A family in Kericho county is seeking justice for their relative, who was killed in an accident along the Kaplong-Kapkatet road.
Wesley Ng'eno, a General Service Unit (GSU) officer, was killed in a hit-and-run accident on the evening of Thursday, December 28.
According to a police report, Wesley left home and headed towards Kapkatet market before he was knocked by a vehicle near Kapkatet Factory at junction Chebiliat Mixed Secondary School.

The motor vehicle failed to stop after the accident and sped off from the scene, leaving the officer nursing serious injuries.
Wesley's brother became concerned after the officer failed to contact the family for hours and decided to check on him at the market, only to find him lying unconscious on the side of the road.
The officer was rushed to Kapkatet Sub-County Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Wesley had travelled to his rural areas to spend time with his family for the Christmas holidays.
In other sad news, a police officer in Teso North, Busia county was killed in a road accident along the Malaba-Kanduyi Road.
In a statement, Kenya Police Service said the officer, identified as Nancy Chepchumba, was killed in a hit-and-run accident at a police roadblock on the night of Sunday, December 10.
"On the night of 10/12/2023, a motorist ran over a madam Nancy Chepchumba while at a roadblock along Malaga-Bungoma Road. She died," police said on Facebook.
According to the police report seen by TUKO.co.ke, the driver of the vehicle suspected to be carrying contraband goods from the Malaba border defied orders by police officers to stop at the Koteko roadblock near Kocholya market before knocking the officer down.
"It happened that Nancy Chepchumba attached to the Amagoro Patrol Base was manning a roadblock in the said area when she was hit by a speeding motor vehicle, which never stopped after the accident, being driven from Malaba heading in the direction of Bungoma," a police report read.
