Kitui - East African Community, ASALs, and Regional Development Cabinet Secretary Peninah Malonza has found herself in a difficult situation after defending President William Ruto's government.
During the burial of journalist Musungu Kyumbe on Saturday, December 9, the CS attempted to defend Ruto over the rising cost of living in the country.
He claims that Ruto's foreign trips were meant to get more funds because the Kenya Kwanza government found empty coffers did not sit well with the mourners.

Agited mourners heckled and booed Malonza as a clear sign of their displeasure with the CS's statement.
Malonza said Ruto was doing everything in his power to address the soaring cost of living before mourners began heckling her.
"The cost of living is very high; even the president understands that. That is why you see him going abroad to borrow money because we found empty coffers. But he is making sure that the cost of living will go down," Malonza said before the crowd started booing her.
The CS begged the agitated crowd to allow her to finish her speech, arguing that women leaders should not be harassed.
"My friends, kindly allow me to finish what I want to say. Let me finish so that you do not grab this microphone from me," said the CS.
Malonza was forced to hasten her speech after the mourners became uncontrollable.
Elsewhere, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leader Raila Odinga praised Bomet residents for allegedly humiliating Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir.
Addressing the press on Monday, November 20, the ODM leader said the move by Bomet residents to heckle Chirchir was commendable.
He sarcastically thanked them for teaching the Energy CS a lesson in front of President William Ruto amid the rising fuel prices in the country.
The former prime minister claimed the president was lucky because, even though the angry residents knew he was speaking lies, they respected him.
