A man's secret from the past has come back to haunt his marriage, which was at one of its happiest points.

The revelation came to light during a casual conversation with friends who were dealing with fertility issues.

Started donating in college

It all started when the husband casually disclosed that he once donated his seed in exchange for KSh 22,000 during a financial rough patch.

In a post on Reddit, the unnamed man revealed that he started being a donor while still in college because he didn't see it as a big deal.

"I mainly did it just to earn some spare change and thought I would be helping people who want children but are struggling," he explained.

The man, now married for six years, admitted that he didn't donate anymore after meeting his wife and having their children.

Donated again while married

However, during a financial struggle a couple of years ago, he discreetly donated again without informing his wife.

He earned KSh 22,000 from the exercise, which went a long way in alleviating their short-term financial challenges.

While making the revelation, the husband expected his wife to let it pass; however, her visibly shaken reaction caught him off guard.

"When we got home, she brought it up again. I explained the story and how I forgot about it over time and didn't see it as a big deal," he lamented.

Hubby regrets

The wife got upset and expressed fears that her husband could have several potential children he didn't know about.

She perceived the undisclosed donation as a betrayal from her man, putting the marriage in trouble.

"Maybe I should have told her. I am definitely feeling like a major letdown right now," the man expressed.

When filing this report, the partners were still at loggerheads but hoped to spend time together and sort out the issue.

Serial seed donor quits venture

Elsewhere, serial seed donor Kyle Gordy recently stopped donating, except for a select few, after fathering at least 65 children worldwide.

Gordy said his motivation to quit was informed by his desire to find his missing rib and establish a meaningful relationship.

He disclosed that he was seeking a partner who would appreciate him for who he is, adding that his previous relationship ended because his partner couldn't tolerate his donation spree.
