Siaya to tap into KSh 4B fish market

In November 2023, Siaya announced a set of new measures to promote sustainable fishing to unlock the KSh 4 billion market.

As part of these measures, the county government said they would prioritise improving the welfare of fishers by providing them with training for enhanced skills, advocating for safe fishing practices, and promoting value addition to increase fishers’ income and improve their livelihoods.
