Wahu was allegedly stabbed to death after a date went wrong. The 26-year-old socialite checked into an Airbnb at Papino, South B, with a man identified as John Matara and after spending some time together, the man left alone.

Wahu's lifeless body was discovered in a pool of blood the following morning by a female cleaner who worked at the Airbnb.

The socialite's death has become a topic of discussion on social media, and her brother, Pastor Kanyari, spoke to the press about the sad story.

In an interview with Nairobi News, Pastor Kanyari spoke of his sister's untimely death. The man of God revealed that the man captured with his sister on the CCTV video had not met her family.

Kanyari noted that it was truly a sad time for the family, as they were heartbroken upon learning of their sister's death.

"I am heartbroken; she was doing so well in life. We last met on Christmas, and on December 31, we spent time together at home. We had not seen the man before. We learned about him after her death. This is so tragic for us, the family, and even her friends. May her soul rest in peace," he said.
