Celebrated content creator Tom Daktari has purchased a new vehicle months after going viral.

Tom had humble beginnings, and a video by DJ Shiti on Friday, October 27, showed Tom acting on the defunct The Real Househelps of Kawangware show.

Tom was seen acting as a beggar and looked unrecognisable without his signature beard.

He sat by the roadside with a bandage on one foot while soliciting money from passers-by.

“I need KSh 2 million for treatment," Tom said as passers-by approached, and Shiti urged them to assist him.

One guy gave KSh 15, but Shiti urged him to give more. Shiti then removed a KSh 1,000 note from his pocket and placed it on a plate beside Tom. The man was convinced as he gave KSh 100.

However, it later emerged that it was a ploy between the two to make money from unsuspecting well-wishers.

Kenyans were stunned by Tom's humble beginnings and reacted by saying:

A Tuesday, December 5 video depicted Tom next to a 2016 Nissan X Trail worth around KSh 2.4 million.

Comedian Sammy Kioko filmed him, and Tom said:

"If you have decided to record, show them the sunroof. Prayers go straight to God.”

He further urged people not to be afraid of showing their blessings.
