Christmas, traditionally a season of joy, turned into a time of mourning for Nyandarua senator John Methu following his father's death.

Methu announced the death of his father, Michael Maigo Wawerù, on his social media platforms as Kenyans sympathised with him.

During his late father's burial, Methu shared that Nyandarua woman rep Faith Wairimu Gitau had made a request to him, and he followed it.

"I am sure you are very happy because in the morning, you told me not to cry before people, and you have seen I have not broken down in front of them. I am a person who listens to what people tell me, so if you want me to do anything, just tell me how you want me to do it, and I will do it," he said with a smile, leaving the guests in laughter.

He noted that Trans-Nzoia county senator Allan Chesang was unhappy with President William Samoei Ruto's frequent visits to Nyandarua and gave him advice.

"You need to add more love in Trans-Nzoia. It seems it has reduced. If you love people, they will automatically love you back," he shared.

What advice did Methu give Senator Chesang?

Methu said Nyandarua stood with Ruto during the presidential election, and 99% of its residents voted for him.

"Tell your people to also vote for you in that percentage," Methu advised Chesang as the guests clapped.

Not many social media users were happy with his political statement, especially on his father's burial.
