On New Year's Eve, a woman knelt and proposed to her longstanding boyfriend with a well-chosen engagement ring.

He said yes, which made her look forward to a wedding within the year, but now it is ending, and the man seems in no hurry.

Man didn't show excitement

The frustrated woman went to Reddit to vent, revealing they'd lived together for over two years.

She explained that the two met when she worked as a bartender while her partner was a waiter, but he's now risen to a cook.

"A couple of months after we started dating, he said he really wanted to marry me, and since he has self-esteem issues, I thought it would be a good idea for me to propose," she said.

She bought the rings and proposed to him, but she noticed he wasn't as excited as she had expected.

Since then, all the man says is that he can't wait to marry her, yet his actions pass a message on the contrary.

When she asked why he hadn't even held a small party to celebrate the engagement, the man told her to set it up.

"I feel like I already did my part and he hasn't done anything," the woman continued.

To complicate the matter even more, the year is almost ending, and he has yet to inform his friends or relatives that he is engaged.
