Anita Nderu Discloses She Met Mzungu Hubby Through Best Friend, Was Going Through Breakup: "Had Lost Hope"

• She added that the two would talk for hours and get to know each other before they started dating, which made things easier for them

Media personality Anita Nderu has opened up about her relationship with her mzungu husband, Barrett Raftery.

How Anita Nderu met her husband

The mother of one revealed that she met her husband through a mutual friend when she had given up on finding love in Nairobi.

In an interview with YouTuber Stephanie Ng'ang'a, Anita and Raftery gave their versions of the story that shaped how their love story ended.

Anita said:

"We were introduced by mutual friends. One of my best friends is married to one of Barrett's best friends and we were both going through breakups and as would be the case, you're deeply complaining to your friends and then there was this day when my friend was leaving the house and she was just like, I wanna introduce you to someone. And to be very honest, at the moment I was just like at this point what do I have to lose. I had really lost hope in anything Nairobi had to offer. Later on, I find myself in a WhatsApp group and my friend has put us all there and she's just like hey you guys are unlucky in love, get to know each other and just be friends," she said.

She said the two started speaking on phone and would go for hours just being on the phone and sometimes, forget her plans because of how deep their conversations were.

When asked how what attracted him to Anita, Raftery said:

"Anita is most likely the kindest person I've ever met and I think from the very beginning of our conversations, both in the way she listens and the way she reacts to things, it displays that kindness."

The two stunned social media users after holding a stunning wedding in Nanyuki in 2021, that was attended by close friends and celebrities.

Anita, hubby welcome first child

In August, 26 2022, Anita announced that she and her mzungu husband welcomed their newborn daughter.

They named their daughter Kaya Gacheri Catalina Raftery, and the media personality shared that the days before the young girl arrived were eventful.

Anita noted that she and her lover were excited and couldn't wait for the next chapter of their lives as parents to Kaya.
