A young boy has become an internet sensation after his hilarious video went viral on TikTok.

Sufuria movement

The boy was captured in a cute video as he put on a sufuria (cooking) pot on his head while passionately singing a popular political chant.

"Nipigwe teke sitarudi nyuma, nipigwe teke sitarudi nyuma (Even if they kick me, I won't back down)," the young boy innocently sang as he stood on a sofa, to the amusement of netizens.

Amid the chuckles, some witty individuals drew a light-hearted comparison between the boy's sufuria hat and opposition leader Raila Odinga's protest calls for change in the country's cost of living. During the demos, Azimio leaders, led by Jeremiah Kioni wore cooking pots on their heads.

Raila accused the police of using brutal force against protestors.

They playfully suggested that his unconventional headwear mirrored the sentiment of those who have been hard hit by high prices of goods.

Azimio leaders urge supporters to bang sufurias

In July, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leaders asked Kenyans to turn up in large numbers in their anti-government protests.

To stand in solidarity with the Opposition leaders, Azimio la Umoja co-principal Martha Karua asked Kenyans to come out of their houses at lunchtime to join the demos remotely.

Karua said:

"At midday tomorrow, we ask Kenyans to come out of their homes and bang their sufurias, pots and pans to signify the lack of food."
