On Saturday, August 26, morning, Kenya Power confirmed it had restored electricity to the JKIA, Nairobi and the Mt Kenya regions.

However, other parts were still affected by the power loss.

"Our teams are working to restore electricity to all areas across the country that were affected by the outage. We apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused and thank them for their patience," the statement read.

The company faced backlash from irked Kenyans, with businessmen counting losses.

However, a witty Kenyan used the opportunity to lighten up the mood.

How did Kenyans cope with blackout?

A photo shared on Twitter depicted a man with depicted a man walking around with a power generator on his back. A rope wound on his head held the generator in place as he walked around.

One hand held an extension cable, seemingly connected to the generator.

The other hand held a mobile phone plugged into the extension. TUKO.co.ke established that it was an old photo and was reposted.

Many Kenyans found the photo quite humorous and created by writing:

Shantel De Dave:

“This is hilarious.”

Beatrice Adhiambo:

“I love my country. Everyone is mad.”

Levine Muhanji:

“Kenya, my motherland.”

What happened to KAA boss Alex Gitari?
