Nairobi Man Offers His CBD Shop To Man Selling Eggs And Smokies, Promises 6 Months Rent

• Kenyan's smokies and boiled eggs vendor gained a new shop as Twitter users united to support his business growth
• One of them, Solomon Akoko, offered his shop to the dedicated vendor, showcasing the power of social media to inspire positive actions
• Procurement officer Solomon Akoko also helped him with six crates of eggs and similar numbers of sausages and smokies

A Kenyan man who sells smokies and boiled eggs outside the Kenya National Archives building in town will soon have new premises after a tweep called Solomon Akoko offered him his shop.

Tweeps offers KSh 8000 to those in neeed

It all started when Masao, also a tweep, saw a July 16 post by a man called Reyzan asking people with dire needs to reply to his post with why they needed help, and he would award KSh 8000 to the one with the most likes retweets and comments.

"Why don't you just give me the KSh 8000 because I know I won't get more retweets and engagements but you can pass by my place in the Nairobi city centre nd see my progress," said Masao who accompanied his reply with a photo of his workstation

His reply attracted many comments, with many vowing to stand with him while others went to his workstation to promote him.

"Stock imeisha kabla hata nianze Jameni KOT," exclaimed Masao.

Solomon admires Masao's resilience

Among the people who saw his tweet was a procurement officer called Solomon Akoko, who also doubles up as an Orange Democratic Movement employee.

He offered Masao more stock and a shop so that his business could expand.

"Bro, I have a very nice shop here in town; I will pay six months' rent kindly get in touch..right now I'm buying you six crates of eggs and 10 packets of smokies and sausages," said Solomon.

In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, Solomon said he admired Masao's resilience and chose to help him.

"I learnt about him through friends and the story spread through Twitter saba saba... he's a go-getter that's why I've volunteered to help him," said Solomon.

"Yes, he's taken it positively, and we've scheduled a meeting... I will meet him on Saturday," said Solomon.

Man with masters degree selling boiled eggs

Elsewhere, a 34-four-year-old man turned to selling smokies and eggs in Karatina town to make a living despite having a Master's degree.

Many of his customers do not know that he is currently pursuing a CPA course as well.

Despite being unstable, the scholar employs two other people, one an orphan. He told TUKO.co.ke he is hopeful that someone will see his appeal and offer him a job so that he can support the two young men even more.
