Promise Karanja, a 22-year-old man whose family rejected his 42-year-old lover, Terryanne, has spoken out.
What did Promise's family say about Terryanne?
The couple went to his mother’s place in Kahawa West for introductions, but things quickly went downhill.
His 40-year-old mother’s friends said they would never accept the relationship and accused Terryanne of taking advantage of him.

"Really? We cannot accept. She is older than your mother. Are you sure, or did her money make you fall for her? This is not love. You are being used,” said a woman in pink.
Amid the lecturer, Promise held Terrryanne’s hand but only aggravated the situation. They were eventually thrown out.
What did Terryanne do after rejection?
Speaking to YouTuber Nicholas Kioko, Promise said he was devastated by the rejection.
The young man disclosed that he had not contacted his family since the incident. He also said that Terryanne had disappeared.
“She is not okay. It was painful and heartbreaking when they called her shosho (grandmother).
She has cut communication with me. I dropped her, and she switched off her phone. I passed by her place, but she was not around. I hope she is okay wherever she is.”
Promise further addressed claims that their relationship was scripted.
“How can you fake love? I love her so much and go with her everywhere. My neighbours know her.”
The young man disclosed that he faced backlash from netizens, and some of his friends turned against
Promise said that he did not think Terryanne had dumped him, adding that:
“If I don’t marry her, I will become gay or marry a woman older than her.”
All I want is for my girl to be okay.”
He also dismissed assumptions that he loved Terryanne because of money.
“I make my own money and don’t depend on her. I adore her.”
