Kenya Power Faces Backlash As Blackout Hits The Country: "Tabia Gani Hizi On Friday"
  • Most parts of the country experienced an unannounced blackout in the evening of Friday, August 25
  • Kenyans from Nairobi, Mt Kenya, Rift Valley and Western Kenya reported that the lights went out minutes before 10pm
  • Being a Friday, Most Kenyans expressed their disappointment at the development that disrupted most of their weekend plans

Nairobi - Kenyans have been treated to an unusual Friday evening after most of the country witnessed a blackout.

Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) are yet to give an update on the blackout that has plunged most parts of the country into darkness.

A quick check by TUKO.co.ke confirmed that parts of Western Kenya, Nairobi, Coast and Mt Kenya regions were in darkness.

Most who reported said the lights went out minutes to 10p.m.

Just like any Friday, Kenyans are known to gather at various entertainment joints, and the latest development is a blow to their plans.

Taking to various social media platforms, they expressed their frustrations at the electricity provider.
