A video of a man proudly looking good in bootleg Nike shoes has left Kenyans in stitches.

Nike, Air Jordans fake in market

In a viral video shared on TikTok, the wearer of the fake designer kicks flaunted his Niek shoes, complete with the iconic Nike swoosh.

"Bro ushawahi ona hizi? Nieke. Nieke kwa mguu... Halafu huku kando imechorwa panga. Tena ni Judo (Have you ever seen these Niek? Put them on my feet. On the side, it has a machete drawn on it. Again, they are Air Jordans?)," said a man in the video.

The shoes had a fake Air Jordan logo on the back.

"Niek tena sio Nike," the video posted by @slimflowshustla was captioned.

Kenyan teams wear fake kits

On Tuesday, August 23, MPs put to task CS Ababu Namwamba over an array of issues bedevilling the ministry.

Gladys Boss-Shollei rose on the floor of parliament, posing a question on the expenditure of fake uniforms.

She said:

"Our teams have been wearing knockoff uniforms, that is, fake Adidas, fake Nike and fake uniforms and it is a known fact. How much did they spend on fake uniforms, which are most likely from River Road?"

Bensuda defends Ababu

In response to the queries raised on the floor of the legislative house, Homa Bay county woman representative Joyce Atieno Bensuda told off Kenya Kwanza Alliance leaders for unfairly targeting Namwamba.

"The discussions today in parliament are tailored as crucifixion. I know Ababu is a smart and hardworking youthful CS," Bensuda said.

The MP noted that MPs were dwelling on petty issues instead of giving Namwamba time to explain himself regarding the issues facing his docket.
