Celebrated rapper Khaligraph Jones has expressed his disappointment regarding the ticket pricing for the upcoming final show of the renowned boy band Sauti Sol.

The award-winning Kenyan band, known for their remarkable music journey spanning close to two decades, had announced their decision to part ways.

Sauti Sol charging KSh 20k for VIP tickets

However, they assured their supporters that while it may be the end of an era, it marks the beginning of a lasting legacy that will remain ingrained in the hearts of their devoted fans.

The VIP tickets for this once-in-a-lifetime experience were set at KSh 20,000, while regular admission tickets were priced at KSh 6,500.

Khaligraph: Sauti Sol should charge KSh 100k

Khaligraph shared his thoughts on the pricing strategy in an interview with SPM Buzz.

While he commended Sauti Sol for their trailblazing journey and their impact on the Kenyan music industry, the Omollo rapper expressed his belief that the band could have aimed even higher with their ticket prices.

Papa Jones suggested that Sol could have charged KSh 100,000 for VIP tickets instead of the set KSh 20,000.

"Sauti Sol, you let me down by charging KSh 20,000. You could have put it KSh 100,000. Sauti Sol has paid their dues. These guys are trailblazers and trendsetters. They are the biggest to ever come from this country. Not even I can come and say I am above them.

Reflecting on his performance pricing strategy, he noted that he would set his tickets at KSh 50,000.

"Mine I will charge KSh 50,000. Those who are willing will come. Let Sauti Sol should charge KSh 100,000 and I will come to see them," Khaligraph said.

Khaligraph says he's the best rapper

In an interview with Oga Obinna, the artiste addressed comparisons to other top rappers like King Kaka, Nyashinski, and Octopizzo.

He said that he is better than them at rapping and that they could not compete with him on that level.

"They can't match me in rapping. They can't match me. They can only outshine me in something else, like dressing. Nyashinski is a good rapper but still, he can't outshine me," Khaligraph said.
