In a thought-provoking video, a woman from Kiambu, Esther Migwi, has offered her unique perspective on post-divorce decisions for married couples.

Divorced couples might regret remarrying

In her message, Migwi advised that those who choose to remarry following a separation might end up regretting their decision.

In the video shared on her TikTok page, Migwi boldly addressed the complexities of divorce, saying individuals who rush to remarry might face similar issues that led to their separation.

Migwi emphasised the decision to remarry should be carefully weighed while pointing out that couples should consider attempting reconciliation before opting for remarriage.

"Kama marriage ya kwanza haikuwork, kaa tu single juu ata ukioa ama uolewe, bado tu uta regret (If your first marriage didn't work, just stay single because if you remarry, you will still regret)," she said.
"Hakuna mtu hana negatives na positives. Na Itafika mahali ustukie, ghaii, nilioa mbaya ata kuliko wa kwanza (There's nobody who doesn't have good and bad sides. It will get to a point you will realise the person you married is worse than the first one )," Migwi passionately expressed.

What should women do after divorce?

The woman's opinion did not stop at cautioning against hasty remarriage.

She extended her advice, particularly to women, encouraging them to prioritise personal growth and improvement in case they get divorced.

Migwi advised that focusing on one's own well-being and future prospects should take precedence over rushing into another marriage.

"My opinion, kama marriage yako ya kwanza haijawork, either you reconcile ama ukae (If your inital marriage did not work, you either reconcile or just stay single). Think about improving your life," she said.
"Especially women, wewe fikiria vile life yako itakuwa better (Think of how you are going to make your life better)," she added.

Being judged harshly by society

Migwi's video touches on a sensitive issue in modern society – the pressure to remarry quickly after divorce.

She suggests that societal judgment and personal desires, such as the need for companionship or intimacy, can lead to rushed decisions that may not be in one's best interest.

"If you let your desire for s*x control you, you will regret it and become a motivational speaker, complaining about how your husband ruined your life, yet it was you who let your desire for s*x control you," Migwi warned.

Her advice encourages couples to carefully consider their choices and prioritize their own well-being in order to build healthier, more fulfilling relationships in the future.

Lady jealous as ex-hubby marries younger wife

Migwi's advice comes just days after a lady became unhappy after divorcing her husband in her early 30s.

Years after she got separated from her husband, the lady, who is now 41 years old, has remained unmarried.

In a story posted on Twitter by Postsubman, the lady said she thought she would be happier than her former husband after the divorce.

But years later, things didn't work as she thought they would, as she is now very lonely.
