Makueni - As hungry Lucas Mutua sat pensively looking at other people going about their business in a Makueni market, he did not know that the day's food would come without him breaking any sweat.

Mutua makes KSh 400

Mutua, a handcart puller, had spent the morning looking for work but didn't get anybody who needed his services.

" It is a very dry day, but the day is still young; I am very optimistic," he told pastor Dan Wema who ministers at the Sammy Maingi ministries.

In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, Wema said Mutua impressed him with his calm demeanour as he waited for business, and that is why he decided to approach the father of three.

"I make KSh 400 or less than that every day. However, some days are really 'dry' and sometimes you go home with only KSh 50 or nothing at all," said Mutua in a TikTok video.

Wema hails Mutua

Wema took Mutua to the market and shopped foodstuffs for him.

Once they were done, Wema told Mutua he would give him the KSh 400, equivalent to what he makes daily.

"No thanks, you, for have already shopped for me, and that is enough, I am content with all these. Just help me with fare," he said.
"If you give me KSh 50 that will be enough for me," insisted Mutua.

Wema was very impressed with Mutua's attitude of gratitude and gave him more than the KSh 400.

"He was very unique, most people are usually interested in cash ; this is the first person I have ever seen refusing money," said the Wema Foundation founder.
