Kenyans have hilariously likened the Ngara woman arrested for selling narcotics to the main character in the popular crime series Queen of the South.

Fifty-four-year-old Teresiah Wanjiru, popularly known as Mathe Wa Ngara, was arrested on Tuesday, August 15, in a sting operation in the locality.

Why is Mathe being compared to Queen of South?

The show in question revolves around the life of Teresa who goes from a troubled lady to a revered 'drug queen' who makes a humongous amount of money and meticulously avoids the police dragnet.

Many drew comparisons from Mathe Wa Ngara to Teresa and ultimately described her as the Queen of the South in the crime series.

@Omwamba said:

"Yaani Kenyans on Twitter have given Mathe wa Ngara a new name, Queen of the South, Weuh! How many of us have not yet watched Queen of the South?"
"Started with Queen of the South, now it's Mathe Teresa. You people are wild."

Ramesh Saxena said:

"Kenyans are very fast buana. They've declared Mathe wa Ngara their Queen of the South."

@UTDqueen

"Now that Mathe, our very Queen of the South, was arrested, and others will have to step up."

DCI hilariously responds to man

Following the operation, one tweeter user identified as @iamlegrande took on the officers claiming that the arrests would not bore any fruit.

"You can arrest Mathe but you can't arrest kwa mathe," @iamlegrande tweeted.

But in a quick rejoinder, the detectives hilariously asked him to meet them in Ngara early today morning.
