Murang'a: Politician Mercy Gakuya Fulfils Promise Of Offering Education Sponsorship To Bright Boy

Mercy Wanjiku Gakuya, the member of parliament for Kasarani Constituency, has kept a promise of an education scholarship she made to a bright boy from Murang'a.

The prominent politician had offered the youngster named Ethan a full scholarship in the school of his choice.

Ethan to join Juja Preparatory

According to a post by philanthropist Karangu Muranga, the MP had kept her word and the boy is set to join Juja Preparatory School on August 28.

Karangu shared photos of himself, Ethan, and his parents, and Gakuya standing in front of the administration block to what will be the youngster's new school.

The scholarship is expected to include tuition fees, books, uniforms, and any other necessary educational resources the young boy will need.

When she made the promise a while back, Gakuya explained that by providing Ethan with the necessary support, she hopes to not only change his life but also contribute to the progress of the community.

Public loved Madame Gakuya's act

With this sponsorship, the genius boy can now pursue his education dreams without the financial burden that could have held him back.

Given that education is known the world over as a catalyst for change, many expressed their joy at the move and hoped that Ethan's story will inspire others.

Ethan knows politics

Three-year-old Ethan became a sensation when he stunned netizens with his knowledge to name politicians.

In a video that went viral on social media, the youngster was able to correctly name members of parliament (MPs), governors and their deputies.

Earlier on, Karangu also delivered his promise when he bought a lovely bike for the young boy to reward him for his acumen.
