Susan Waigera from Nakuru county rues the day she met her partner and married him at a church wedding on November 30.

Waigera says husband worked in church

According to Waigera, the two met in an interdenominational band, where he was the coordinator and fell in love.

"I thought he was a good guy since he used to serve at the altar. We dated for six months and after that we felt ready for marriage, especially since both of us had been frustrated in relationships," Waigera told TUKO.co.ke in an interview.

Unlike most couples who still have the fire on shortly after getting married, Waigera said there was not much intimacy in hers.

"He was addicted to pleasing himself; when I consulted him he said, you see there are so many men here you can go around knocking doors asking who wants to sleep with you, after all I have nothing to lose," she said.

Waigera notices red flags

In hindsight, Waigera remembered that she had noticed some red flags as they geared up for marriage, and the brightest of them all was his warning that his parents would never like her, and true to his word, they never did.

"His parents said they don't want a lady from my tribe. Another red flag is we had a slight misunderstanding, and he slapped me in front of my sister just a few days before our wedding," she revealed.

Waigera had thought of calling off the wedding, but parents from both sides prevailed upon her not to call it off. One week before the wedding, the couple only had KSh 60,000, but their bishop's wife came to their rescue.

Despite most family members being a no-show and very few presents on her wedding day, the two settled in marriage.

Fights rock Waigera's marriage

"We fought over everything and had many arguments. I asked him to look for another job since he used to work in church and was only needed on Saturdays and Sundays. I wanted him to think about our tomorrow," she said.
"His parents were very involved in our marriage and wanted me to take my child from another relationship to a public school instead of a private school," she said.

Things escalated, and her husband accused her of being an evil spirit hellbent on killing men. He chased her away, and she started life in another town.

After meeting with their pastor, he encouraged her to divorce since violence was involved, but she felt pity for him and gave him another chance. They were blessed with a son.

Waigera struggles to raise her children

"I noticed he has changed he would say he would divorce me. We used one phone, and one day I got the messages of a lady he used to chat with. He used to send her money, but here in the house he never left any and we even used rags as diapers," she said.
"My husband told me he left the messages because he wanted me to see; he had been planning on leaving me but didn't know the right words to use. I cried so much, I felt like my end had come. He told me you are more beautiful than the lady I want to marry but my heart loves her. I was deceived by your beauty but I never loved you," said Waigera.

Once, when their child got sick, Waigera tried reaching out to him, but he sent her KSh 800 and told her to seek the rest from her secret admirers.

"Some few days later I found a job, and he would lock himself in the house. One day, he snapped and told me you woman there is nothing I can't to do you," said the mother of two.

The man left them, and she now struggles to raise two kids alone.

Man says wife denies him conjugal rights

In another story, a bride shared her heartbreak after her husband ended their marriage just one day after their wedding due to her refusal to sleep with him.

The heartbroken woman explained that she refused to sleep with him on their wedding night because she was exhausted.

The lady told the radio show, Hot Nights, that the groom expressed his desire for a divorce the next day after the wedding, and they separated after two weeks.
