Nairobi - Digital strategist and blogger Pauline Njoroge has spoken for the first time since her arrest by the detective in Malindi.

In a statement on Thursday, July 27, Njoroge vowed that she will not be silenced by the Kenya Kwanza administration.

According to the digital strategist, her arrest only strengthened her resolve, and from now on, she will not sit and watch things go wrong in the country.

Njoroge, who is affiliated with the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party, called on patriotic Kenyans to speak out against alleged attempts by President William Ruto's administration to recreate the country's dark days.

"I shall not be silenced! By detaining us, you only strengthened our resolve. We will not sit and watch as some fellows try to turn the clock back, recreating our country's dark past. Patriots of that generation sacrificed sweat and blood to liberate our country from dictatorship, so that we may have the democratic space we currently enjoy.
Because of our present circumstances, the responsibility to guard jealousy our hard earned freedom has fallen upon our generation. We must bear that responsibility bravely," Njoroge said.

The digital strategists thanked Kenyans, including her family members, who stood with her during her ordeal at the hands of the police.

"To our family, friends and supporters, I say thank you for your overwhelming love and prayers. To our lawyers, thank you for spending a couple of sleepless nights preparing a strong defence. To the media, you stood up for the truth. Thank you!" she said.

Njoroge reveals details of her arrest

In the same statement, the digital strategist and political blogger disclosed details about her controversial arrest on July 22.

Recounting the harrowing experience, she revealed the details surrounding her arrest, which took place in Watamu.

According to Njoroge, the order for her arrest was allegedly issued by higher authorities, prompting the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to initiate a tracking operation.

"The order to have me arrested was issued last week on Wednesday by the powers that be, and the DCI immediately started tracking me. They finally pounced on me on Saturday, July 22, at about 2pm," Njoroge said in tell it all explanation on her Facebook account.

The digital strategist claimed that on the day before her arrest, she received an unusual phone call from an individual claiming to be from a bank.

This person allegedly possessed confidential documents they wanted to hand over to her in Malindi, and they insisted she come alone.
