Since Sunday, August 13, the football community in Kenya has been in mourning after former Gor Mahia skipper Rafael Asudi collapsed on the pitch and died.
In the wake of his demise, heartbreaking photos have emerged of the last five minutes the player was on the pitch, and the last he would ever be seen alive.
In two of the photos, the talented sportsman was captured tussling for the ball with his opponents while seemingly in good health.

The last photo, however, captures a tragic moment that will haunt many local football players and fans for eons.
Asudi was photographed on the ground clinging to life while surrounded by players shortly after he collapsed.
Moments later, Asudi would be pronounced dead, leaving the football fraternity in shock and tears.
Details indicate that the former Bidco, Sofapaka and Gor Mahia player met his demise while playing for Donholm Seniors FC in a match pitting them against Thika Vitambi.
Asudi came in as a substitute and played for five minutes before the unfortunate happened, throwing the fraternity into grief.
The tragic news was shared by sports journalist Fred Arocho as he eulogised the left footed player.
Shocked football fans and players poured their condolences to the departed sportsman, with many finding consolation in the fact that he died while doing what he loved the most.

As of the time of filing this report, details of what led to his demise were yet to be divulged, but it will be remembered that the player underwent a heart surgery in April this year.
