Struggling for breath, Oreme thanked Azimio leaders for reaching out to affected families. He further consoled those who lost their loved ones, telling them they needed a persevering spirit.
Oreme disclosed that he was shot through the arm, and the bullet got lodged in his lung, hence the struggles in breathing.
He stated that he had been admitted to the hospital for at least a week as doctors tried to figure out how to remove the bullet from his lung successfully.
Oreme explained that doctors at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital told him that it was a dangerous operation to undertake.
He said the doctors told him to learn how to survive for the rest of his life with the bullet piercing his lungs.
"Recently, we went for a check-up in Russia, and the doctors said they can't do the operation that I just learn to survive with the bullet. But it is something that has happened, we have to continue with life," he said.
Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo had to cut him short as he struggled to breathe and talk concurrently.
Earlier, Ida criticised Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome over his stand on alleged police brutality.
The ODM leader's wife called on Koome to ensure officers involved in shooting innocent protesters are arrested and charged.
Ida said if IG Koome fails to take action against the culprits, he would be taking the country in the wrong direction.
“If you don’t arrest them, if you don’t parade them, if you don’t take them to court, you are taking this country to the dogs,” Ida said.
