He went around the premises inspecting the airport together with the officials.

Excited Kenyans were seen warmly interacting with the president during the unplanned visit. Ruto also greeted the travellers at the waiting bay.

He also interacted with a shoe vendor and even asked her to deliver shoe number 43.

"Tell them to send me number 43," he said while holding a grey Suede boot.

The video, which has since gone viral on social media, displayed the president's relatable side, breaking down the barrier between leader and citizen through personal interactions.

This is also an art the president seems to have perfected throughout his political career.

Ruto's impromptu visit to parliament

In other news, Ruto also surprised members of parliament with a visit on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.

After arriving at parliament buildings, the president intermingled with members on break from the plenary.

He joined them at the parliament canteen, where he partook in lunch.

Speaker Moses Wetang'ula said Ruto's visit to parliament was part of the initiative by the Executive to regularly engage the Legislature in affairs of great national importance.

"Regular consultations between the Legislature and the Executive will provide opportunities for diverse voices to be heard on issues that matter to the citizenry. Had the pleasure of hosting H.E. President William Ruto who dropped by the Members’ canteen at Parliament for lunch," Wetangula stated.
