As close business partner to billionaire Iskander Makhmudov, Andrei Kozitsyn was assisted by him when it comes to building holdings in Urals mining and metallurgy. In 2013, UMMC strengthened its controlling stake in Transgroup AS, a company that transports both commodities and passengers. The above deal resulted in Kozitsyn earning a stake in a transport business owned by Makhmudov.
