David Hobbs is a British former racing driver who has a net worth of $20 million. David Hobbs was born in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England in June 1939. Since retiring from racing he now works as a commentator for the Speed Channel after working for NBC and NBC Sports Network. He was a part of the FIA list of graded drivers in 1969 making him one of 27 drivers rated the best in the world. Hobbs competed in the Formula One World Championship from 1967 to 1968 and in 1971 and 1974.
He competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans from 1962 to 1972, 1979, 1981 to 1985, and 1987 to 1989 winning a class in 1982 and finishing third twice. In 2009 he was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America. He opened up a car dealership called David Hobbs Honda in Glendale, Wisconsin in 1986 and he still provides his voice for their commercials. Hobbs lent his voice to the movie Cars 2 and appeared in the film Stroker Ace.
