A tragic road accident at Musinde on the Garuga Road within Katabi town council, Wakiso District, claimed the lives of four Buganda Royal Institute students.
The incident occurred when a Toyota Rumion, carrying the students to a beach party, collided with a parked soda truck.
Daily Monitor reports that the driver, a student from the institute, was trying to overtake another vehicle when the crash happened.

The impact was severe, resulting in the immediate death of four students, while two others suffered grave injuries and were taken to Kisubi Hospital.
"The driver and the following Toyota Hiace were reportedly speeding," traffic police spokesperson Michael Kananura reported.
Eyewitnesses disclosed that the collision happened as the Rumion’s driver attempted an overtake at a sharp bend, striking a stationary Fuso truck loaded with soda.
The deceased students were transported to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem examinations.
In the wake of the tragedy, there was an outpouring of condolences from social media users.

When this article was published, police had launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The incident brings back memories of a recent accident that claimed the lives of 11 students from Kenyatta University.
Details indicated that the public health students were on an academic trip to Mombasa when they crashed in the Maungu area along the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway.
The bus, reportedly hit on the left side by a trailer, was carrying 58 passengers, including a security officer.
Ten students were reported to have died on the spot, while one succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment at a health facility in Voi.
