While speaking on JKLive, Duale revealed that prominent government officials had used the ill-fated chopper before it crashed in Elgeyo Marakwet.
"I used it a number of times, I think more than 15 times. Professor Kindiki and the police Inspector General used it. "
He added that government officials used it when visiting Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) operation areas.
"It was an operational logistics helicopter that troops used in very difficult terrains and insecure areas."
CS Duale said the investigation report into General Ogolla's death will be made public once they receive it.
He added that an inquiry into the General's death was ongoing, with multi-agency teams sent to the United States to visit Bell Textron Inc., the manufacturer of the ill-fated chopper.
He further said that the aircraft's remnants had been forwarded to the manufacturer to determine the cause of the crash.
"We will avail a very detailed report. Our team is now in the US, they've gone with all the parts and once all information has been collected, a recommendation is given to us. We will then tell the country was is mechanical or anything else," he said.
Duale, however, did not specify the timeframe for when Kenyans can expect answers regarding the exact cause of the helicopter crash.
General Ogolla died in a chopper crash on Thursday, April 18.
President William Ruto confirmed the tragedy in a televised address to the state on the evening of the General's passing.
Ogolla was onboard a KDF plane that crashed in Keben on the border of Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot counties.
The ill-fated Kenya Air Force Huey Helicopter was ferrying its occupants to the bandit-stricken North Rift region on a working visit.
