Anne Mokua: Husband Of Fallen KQ Pilot Painfully Recalls Informing Kids About Her Death In Accident

Arnold Mokua Okwayo, the husband of Captain Anne Mokua, has shared painfully breaking the news of her death to their kids.

Arnold asks God why

Anne died tragically in a road accident on Thika Road and Arnold heard the news from his friend Makau.

The two had been married for 17 years and shared three children: Yvet, Kendi, and Sam.

"This is the most difficult thing that has ever happened to me and the kids. I keep asking why God why. I am still trying to comprehend these; how cruelly and suddely she was taken away from us," he said in a video shared on the ICC Imara YouTube Channel.

Mokua's kids become emotional

"The phone call that I got from my friend Makau breaking the news of Anne's demise to me will forever haunt me.Worse still, I had to break the news to my family in the US and significantly worse, was me breaking it down for the kids.

Given the time difference, Arnold had to wait for the kids to wake up to give them the earth-shattering news.

"I started with Yvett, Kendi, and later Sam. Being far away was not easy; the kids were emotional, and I even tried to talk to my brother Anthony, but it wasn't easy. It is a loss that has broken, shattered, and devastated us. Our entire family stood to face this together," he added.

Arnold said the plans they had together with Mokua would fuel him, and he would keep her legacy alive.
