Kenyan innovator Ayushi Chandaria is among four Kenyans named to the 2024 Forbes Africa's 30 Under 30 list.

This comes as Forbes Africa marked the 10th anniversary of Forbes Africa's 30 Under 30.

"Ten years of profiling record-breakers, history-makers, and risk-takers determined to rewrite the narrative on Africa. Forbes Africa's 30 Under 30 list's 10th anniversary is a testament to the unmistakable potential and talent pool on a continent boasting the world’s youngest population and their role in crafting Africa’s growth story together," Forbes stated.

Ayushi, 26, founded the Design Thinking Program (Kenya), which is being implemented at the United States International University in Kenya.

Kenyans who made it to Forbes Africa's 30 Under 30

She made it to the list alongside other Kenyans, Arooj Sheikh, 28, Kenneth Njeru, 25, and Alex Mativo.

Sheikh is the founder and CEO, of Beyond Kenyan Bars; Njeru is the director and founder of Africa Afya Healthcare; and Mativo is the CEO and co-founder of E-LAB, Nanasi, and Duck.

Ayushi is the granddaughter of celebrated Kenyan industrialist and philanthropist Dr Manu Chandaria.

What is the Design Thinking Program?

According to USIU, the Design Thinking Program is a problem-solving approach prioritising empathy, creativity, and collaboration to generate innovative solutions.

The program involves understanding the needs and perspectives of end-users through defining problems, brainstorming ideas, prototyping, and testing solutions.

Forbes Africa's 2024 list had 14 South Africans, five Nigerians, two Zimbabweans, two Tanzanians, one Ghanaian, one Ugandan, and one honoree from Sierra Leone.

In 2023, Kenya-born comedian Elsa Majimbo made it to Forbes Africa's 30 Under 30.
