Since then, the young patriot has attracted interest from all over, with a group of well-wishers offering to upgrade her.

Led by philanthropist Geoffrey Wafula, the group visited the school and gifted her after learning she hails from a humble background.

It emerged that the youngster is mainly being raised by relatives, notably her aunt and grandmother.

What do Baraka's parents do for a living?

This is because her father is a boda boda operator while her mother is a housewife in Bumula.

Wafula told TUKO.co.ke that he had bought her a pair of new school uniforms, shoes, socks, and a new scout's attire.

He then drove from his home in Kitale to Baraka's school to present the goodies on a day the youngster was sitting for her exams.

"I also paid her lunch feeding programme and remedial fees as part of my little way of encouraging her," he said.

Why was Baraka praised?

Baraka came to the limelight after commanding a scouts' troop during the national event held at Masinde Muliro stadium.

Kenyans were moved by the youngster's courage and poise when her photos were shared online.

Many opined that her crisp salutes and unwavering steps epitomized the spirit of Madaraka Day—a celebration of the courage and resolve that led to Kenya’s independence.

Social media buzzed with praise for the young scout, with many calling her an embodiment of Kenya's future.
