The mother of one painfully narrated, trying to reach out to her husband in the afternoon on the day he passed away.

She made a call a few minutes past 2pm, but it was not answered like the previous calls.

At 2:23pm, the widow received a text from the love of her life and father to their daughter reading, "I will call you babe," as reported by Citizen Digital.

How Captain Hillary Litali learned of his death

Little did she know that that would be the last time she would hear from her 29-year-old, loving husband.

At 4pm, a friend sent a message to a WhatsApp group, which shattered a worried Mutata.

"Have you people checked? A chopper carrying Chief of Defence Forces Francis Ogolla has crashed?"

Fear engulfed Mutata, who texted the WhatsApp group asking if the CDF was okay.

"Lit was there. Please tell me if CDF Ogolla is okay! If Ogolla is dead, then my husband is dead. Is Ogolla alive?" she asked, but no one responded.

According to Mutata, her husband often sat next to CDF Ogolla, so she felt that if Ogolla was okay, Lit was alive.

After making unfruitful efforts to find out more about the helicopter crash and trying to reach out to her husband and his friends, one of her friends shared a message on Facebook.

The friend shared a list of the officers involved in the crash, and that was how Mutata found out about her husband's death.

Captain Litali leading military song

In another story, moments after the accident, videos appeared online, depicting one of the deceased enjoying lively moments with his comrades.

Captail Litali was shown in the footage leading a fun military song while the other soldiers joined in.

The group was having a good time with the song, dancing around Captain Litali and maintaining cheerful expressions.
