First Daughter Charlene Ruto has expressed a heartfelt homage to the late Chief of Defence Forces, Francis Omondi Ogolla.
The unfortunate demise of Ogolla occurred on Thursday, April 18, following a helicopter accident that resulted in an explosion and fire in Kaben, Elgeyo Marakwet county.
President William Ruto confirmed the tragic loss of 10 KDF officers in the incident, with only two soldiers surviving the crash.
Charlene took to Instagram to post poignant images of herself signing condolence books at the military honours held at Ulinzi Sports Complex on Saturday, April 20.

She penned:
"Fare thee well, our gallant general, master mentor, caring champion," she wrote.
Separately, President William Ruto disclosed that he was surprised to see his daughter Charlene at Ogolla’s burial ceremony.
While making his speech, the president disclosed that Charlene called and requested to attend the burial, a request he declined.
However, he was shocked when he got to the venue and discovered that she attended and had the opportunity to address the gathering from the podium.
The first daughter was invited to make a speech by Ogolla's daughter, Lorna Achieng, whom she is close friends with.
Ruto explained that Charlene's insistence on attending underscored the deceased general's profound impact on individuals at all levels of society.
