Millions of Kenyans transition to secondary and tertiary institutions each year after obtaining the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), respectively.
However, some Kenyans misplace or lose these crucial documents.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) explained how to replace the certificates online on its website.

According to KNEC, a candidate or person seeking to replace their certificate must present a copy of their lost certificate, a copy of their identity card (ID), a passport-size photo, and a police abstract.
"Clients must prove that their certificates are lost/destroyed before applying for an examinations result certification," KNEC stated.
The examination body revealed it costs KSh 5,220 to replace each certificate.
"The fees required for issuance of examination results certification is KSh 5,220 inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT). The names on the national ID/passport/birth certificate must match those used during the examination," KNEC said.
KNEC stated that applicants who legally changed their names must attach documents proving the change, such as a marriage certificate or a copy of the Kenya gazette in which the changed name appears.
In other news, Mulamwah, better known as David Oyando, sat for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in Kitale.
The St Anthony's Boys High alumnus previously shared his KCSE certificate, earning praise online.
Former schoolmates attested to his classroom prowess, as others said it would motivate students.
Elsewhere, Vincent Kipkoech, a project manager in Western Australia, shared he scored 372 marks in the KCPE national examinations.
He also bagged an A plain in KCSE and joined Kenyatta University (KU), where he pursued a course in chemical engineering.
His educational achievements inspired other social media users to share their education journey in the comment section.
