EALA MP Hassan Omar Builds Multi-Million Home For Late Friend's Family: "I Assured Him"

East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP and former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has built a magnificent home for the family of his late friend Salim Abdalla Kuuza, who passed on after a battle with cancer on May 22, 2023.

The house was transferred to Kuuza's family over the weekend, showcasing a bond of friendship that rises above political affiliations.

In a statement shared via X (formerly Twitter), Omar described his strong bond with the late Kuuza, terming him as a friend, mentor, advisor, and comrade who stood by him through the turbulent period of his political journey.

Why did Omar build the house?

MP Omar stated that he had conversations with Kuuza in February/March last year, where he showed concern over the well-being of his family after his demise.

The MP said that this is when he promised to mobilize his friends to support his children and family should he not survive the illness or treatment.

"As I encouraged him that he will pull through the illness, I equally assured him, that for his sacrifices I will mobilise our friends to support his children and family should he not survive the illness or treatment," he said.

Omar added that during that time, the late spoke of his aspirations, triumphs, tribulations, regrets, and matters related to his family.

"Upon Salim's demise, I indicated to my wife of the conversations I had with Salim and his concerns about his young family. I told my wife that I will try and mobilise a few friends to rebuild Salim's house for his children and family," he added.

The construction of the house began in November 2023 and it was handed over to the family on Saturday, May 11.

Peter Salasya builds mum magnificent house

Earlier in 2023, Mumias East MP Peter Salasya, who narrowly escaped death in a swimming pool incident in 2022, constructed a beautiful home for his mother.

Fueled by a deep sense of gratitude and the desire to honour his mother's love, according to a Facebook post on his page, Peter took it upon himself to bless her with a beautiful home.
