Florence Robert: Migori Pastors To Hold Night Vigil In Honour Of Late Singer, Announce Burial Date

People from all walks of life have been invited to attend a night vigil to celebrate the life of the late Florence Roberts, who died after a short illness.

Candle lighting ceremony for Florence in major towns

According to Bishop Joshua Amara from Migori county, the May 16, event will be an interdenominational event.

"Everybody will converge here and we will have praises, singing, testimonies," Amara told Blackman TV.

"It is just like a commemoration; people who cannot come or those far away can have the opportunity to share their grief," he added.

Amara shared that the burial date has been set for May 17, 2024, and they have also considered that the weather is not on their side, but they are confident that God will take full control.

Religious and traditional mourning for Florence

"We are looking forward to having a dome tent that will cover 3000 to 5000 people from all localities and all walks of life; the political, religious and traditional wings will have an opportunity to share their grief," he added.
"We have a traditional way of mourning a departed soul, whether it be a Christian or any citizen," he added.

According to Pastor John Njoga from Deliverance Church, there will be a celebration in the whole country and a candle lighting ceremony for her as well.

"We will have candle lighting ceremonies in Nairobi, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Siaya, and Migori; Everyone will get a place to join," said Njoga.

Florence claims God healed from HIV

In another story, Florence shared that she was diagnosed with HIV just as she was about to get married to her first fiance at a church wedding.

According to the singer, the couple went for testing as their church required them to before a wedding, but when they got tested, the results showed that Florence was HIV positive, and her fiance was HIV negative.

The man walked out on her at the hospital, and after prayers, she allegedly got a negative result and went on to marry Robert Eboi.
