Former presidential aspirant Truphena Moraa has penned a poignant open letter to President Joe Biden of the United States, expressing her concerns regarding the planned mission to Haiti.
The Kenyan government had agreed to deploy 1,000 security officers to assist in a peace mission in Haiti, a country plagued by deadly armed gangs.
In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, Moraa disclosed that she had reached out to President William Ruto several times but got no response.

"I have sent numerous letters to the statehouse, yet the president doesn't seem to pay attention. Not even an acknowledgement note. Yet we have a lot of problems in Kenya of which security is also key. That is why I decided to write to the US president," said Moraa.
"The whites are different from us. They are very strict with their policies. That is why most of their leaders resign when they find themselves in the wrong, unlike our Kenyan leaders," she added.
In her letter, Moraa passionately implored President Biden to reconsider the Haiti mission, fearing for the safety of the deployed troops.
She emphasised the grave situation in Haiti and urged Biden to cancel the deployment, fearing that the troops might not return home alive.
"Kenyans are told that your government is pushing Kenya to send troops to Haiti. Mr. President, we urge and appeal to you to intervene and save Kenyan troops from going to Haiti. Tell our government not to send our troops to Haiti they may not come back alive," the ex-presidential aspirant cried.
Moraa, the courageous leader of Women Empowerment Kenya (WEK) urged President Biden to allow the United Nations to handle the situation rather than relying on what she termed a "confused government".
The politician expressed strong opposition to the use of US funding for the mission, labelling it as "blood money."
Moraa issued a stern warning that if the Haiti mission proceeds, the women of Kenya will organise nationwide protests in opposition.
"It is completely insane for a confused government to send our troops to Haiti. Women of Kenya will call for demonstration Countrywide. It is the UN's responsibility to deal with the crisis of any country in the world, not Kenya. Mr. President the troops are our Children who have families depending on them. That money will be blood money. The government must stop and leave the UN to do its work," she added.
She asserted that Kenya's police force deserves respect and should not be treated as commodities, as they too have families to support.
