Francis Ogolla's Daughter Lorna Says Dad Swallowed Fish Bone, Sneaked From Hospital To Go To Class

Lorna Achieng, the daughter of the late Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), General Francis Ogolla, has eulogised him as a modest and affectionate patriarch.

Speaking during Ogolla's funeral ceremony at Senator Obama K'Ogello Primary School, Lorna depicted her father as a resolute individual who embraced challenges without trepidation of failure.

She reminisced about an occasion when he was assigned to training in France, necessitating a swift acquisition of the French language.

Despite being hospitalised for two months due to a fish bone lodged in his intestines, he diligently mastered French within half a year.

“During this period, he swallowed a fish bone. It got lodged into his intestines and he was hospitalised for two months. He was sneaking out of Defence Forces Memorial with my mum to Alliance Française to take his French exams so that he doesn't disappoint the Government of Kenya,” Lorna said.
