Tinsley Nduta, the young girl who went viral for crying shortly after President William Ruto announced that schools would reopen on May 13, has finally met him.

Why Tinsley Nduta cried after school reopening announcement

Mama Tinsley shared a video of the little girl crying as she lamented about the president's decision and she trended for the better part of last week.

A few days later, the head of state contacted the young girl. Mama Tinsley talked with Ruto before he asked to speak to Nduta, who was relaxing beside her mum and enjoying ice cream.

Ruto greeted the young girl, who was stunned when her mum told her she was speaking to Ruto.

Ruto introduced himself and asked Nduta how she was doing before asking if she knew she was going to school the following day.

"I was not prepared," Nduta shyly said after Ruto asked her why she cried after he announced the school reopening dates.

Mama Tinsley shared the video on TikTok, and once again, it went viral.

President Ruto spends time with Tinsley Nduta

On Sunday, May 19, Nduta, her sister and her parents visited State House, Nairobi, where they spent quality time with the president.

Sharing the photos, Ruto wrote:

"Hosted four-year old Tinsley Nduta, a pupil at Lizzie Wanyoike Preparatory School who became a social media sensation after expressing her reluctance about school reopening. She had a change of heart following a persuasive phone conversation I had with her last week.

Accompanied by her mother Agnes Wairimu, father George Ngugi and sister Maureen Wambeti to State House, Nairobi, I emphasised the critical role of education in shaping young minds and preparing them for productive roles in society."

Mama Tinsley also shared photos of Ruto carrying her, who was wearing a beige dress during their visit to the house on the hill.

"Finally baby Tinsley meets the president ❤️," she captioned the video.
