As the government continues to reclaim the riparian lands in Nairobi, the residents of Kayole are the latest victims of demolitions.
According to the video, the woman lamented that she had not been informed about the impending demolitions and was, therefore, unable to transfer her belongings to a safer place.
"We were not informed of the demolitions. Hata hatujatoa vitu, tuhurumieni Mungu wangu(Have mercy on us please, we have not even picked our belongings)," the woman painfully cried.
The woman could not hold her pain as she watched a bulldozer bring down her house.

"Why is Ruto destroying property in slum areas only? Poor people don't find themselves in slums or on riparian land. Corrupt administrators create slums, not the tenants suffering now at the expense of greedy rich."
Chienjo Jnr said:
"None of their elected officials can dare speak lest they be ejected from the convey belt of tenders and access to helicopters... spot on."
Earlier Interior CS Kithure Kindiki had warned that the government would not take lightly those residents who have refused to move from the riparian areas.
Kindiki said the government will not condone farming activities and residing in riparian areas.
He additionally said that the government would forcefully evict those who would not obey the directive to vacate voluntarily.
