Homa Bay - Residents of Kital-Komollo village in Karachuonyo Constituency found relief amidst heavy rainfall in the country after a Good Samaritan extended a helping hand.
In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, a resident in the area revealed that nearly 300 people were provided with food assistance including cereals.
This occurred after the individuals voiced their complaints seeking assistance following their displacement due to flooding.

Their plight didn't go unnoticed, and Nathaniel Odongo, a 27-year-old student currently studying at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, stepped in with food assistance.
Speaking with TUKO.co.ke, Odongo expressed his empathy upon learning about the flood-induced displacements exacerbating the already challenging economic circumstances.
"I was touched, which is why I backed the Kital residents. I empathise with the challenges they face in providing food. Poverty was already present, but worsened with heavy rains hitting the country," he said.
He called upon leaders to rally behind the flood victims, acknowledging Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga's significant support to those residing in various camps.
Odongo, who hails from a modest background and has faced personal hardships, recounted his journey surviving with the help of well-wishers, especially after the passing of his mother and his father's blindness.
Despite facing academic setbacks, he persevered, eventually securing a scholarship.
"I come from a humble background and believe the only way I can repay my kind supporters is by giving back to society. I faced struggles in primary school and dropped out in Form Two. Thankfully, someone helped me and I had to restart from Class Seven. I never lost hope," he explained.
Reflecting on his life, Odongo recognised the importance of giving back and thus decided to establish the Humanity Touch Charity Organisation in Kenya with his savings from a partial job in Norway.
His goal is to reach and assist as many people as possible in a structured and sustainable manner.
The charity organisation will be launched in Kisumu in early June.
In another story, Odongo flew back to the country in December 2023 to reward the top performers in the previous KCPE examinations.
His intention was to relieve the students and their parents of the burden of purchasing compulsory admission requirements.
The event was presided over by Comedian Eric Omondi, who added a taste of humour to the function.
